Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SYNAPSE, a cloud-based business operations platform, including its website, web application, desktop widget and related services (the "Service"). The Service is provided by Artha Business Labs, trading as SYNAPSE ("Artha Business Labs", "we", "us" or "our").

When you create an account, start a free trial or otherwise use the Service, you are entering into a binding contract with Artha Business Labs. By continuing to use the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. The Service

SYNAPSE is a multi-tenant software-as-a-service platform that lets organisations manage customers, projects, tasks, timesheets, leave, attendance, people (HR), expenses, reimbursements, billing, receivables, reports and related workflows. The features available to you depend on the modules activated for your organisation. Core services include sign-in, organisation and user management, roles and permissions, audit, approvals, notifications and files.

2. Eligibility and authority

The Service is intended for business use. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and "you" refers to that organisation. If you use it as an individual, you confirm you are of legal age to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction.

3. Accounts and users

  • You must give accurate, complete information when you register and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for all activity under your organisation's account, including activity by users you invite.
  • Organisation administrators control which users can access the workspace and what roles and permissions they hold.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

4. Free trial

New organisations that sign up online receive a free trial of 2 days with access to all business modules. No payment details are requested for the trial. When the trial ends, access to the workspace is locked until a SYNAPSE platform administrator activates it. Your data is kept while your account is restricted, subject to section 9. We may change, shorten or withdraw free trials for future sign-ups at any time, and we may refuse a trial where we suspect abuse (for example, repeated trials for the same organisation).

5. Organisation access and modules

Organisation access, active dates and available modules are configured by a SYNAPSE platform administrator. Modules that are switched off are unavailable, but their existing data is retained and becomes available again if the module is reactivated. Contact us through our contact page to discuss access.

6. Licence and restrictions

While your subscription or trial is active, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes, within the limits of your plan. You must not:

  • copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code of the Service;
  • resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the Service, or offer it to third parties as a service bureau;
  • get around plan limits, module entitlements, access controls or other technical restrictions;
  • use the Service to build a competing product.

7. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:

  • use it for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law or regulation;
  • engage in fraud, spam, phishing or other deceptive activity;
  • upload or share content that infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • interfere with the security or integrity of the Service, including uploading malware, probing, scanning or testing vulnerabilities, overloading our systems, or scraping or harvesting data by automated means;
  • access another organisation's data or try to bypass tenant isolation.

Where the Service includes AI-assisted features, you are responsible for what you enter, for checking outputs before relying on them, and for how you use them. AI outputs may be inaccurate and are not professional advice.

8. Intellectual property and your data

Artha Business Labs owns and keeps all rights in the Service, including its software, design, documentation, trademarks and branding. No rights are granted except those expressly set out in these Terms.

You keep all rights in the data and content you or your users put into the Service ("Customer Data"). You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process and display Customer Data only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service. We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Notice. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if:

  • you materially breach these Terms and, where it can be fixed, do not fix it within a reasonable time;
  • your free trial has ended and your organisation has not been activated;
  • your use creates a security, fraud or legal risk for us, other customers or third parties;
  • you repeatedly or seriously break our acceptable use rules.

You may stop using the Service and close your organisation at any time. When access ends, you may ask us to export your Customer Data within 30 days. After that period, and in any case where an account stays unpaid for an extended time, we may delete or anonymise Customer Data, except where we must keep it by law.

10. Service availability and warranties

We work to keep the Service available, secure and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely or error-free, or that all defects will be corrected. We may carry out maintenance and improve, change or remove features. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms is limited to the fees you paid directly to us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Artha Business Labs against claims, losses and costs arising from your Customer Data, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice by email or in the app. By continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

14. General

  • Governing law and disputes: these Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you may have.
  • Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure: neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Entire agreement: these Terms and our Privacy Notice form the whole agreement about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
